About Us
Funlosophy - a pursuit of a basic understanding of fun, especially as it relates to life and work.
Playfulness encourages individuals and groups to experiment with ideas on a creative level not customary in the work place. Senge (The Fifth Discipline, 1990) refers to this playfulness as an opportunity to practice "collective learning." Playfulness is an attitude, and as such, is a communication system. It sets the tone, facilitates understanding, brings people closer together, transcends barriers, and builds teams through cooperation. How employees communicate affects your bottom line. Happy employees send a message to your clients that these are people working in a business who believe in what they do, who cooperate, and who work together for the success of the company.
Hal, the founder of Funlosophy, Inc., is dedicated to developing positive and constructive working relationships within organizations and helping working groups accomplish more with existing resources. Funlosophy developed out of a need for people to find pleasure in what they do every day, and not just in the job, but in the people they work with. One of the primary reasons people leave jobs is because they do not feel a connection to those around them. The purpose of Funlosophy, Inc. is to get people in organizations talking, laughing, problem solving, and sharing with one another. Hal and Funlosophy, Inc. are members of two Colorado based Chambers of Commerce: the Arvada Chamber and the Denver Metro Chamber. Funlosophy is an organizational member of the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), and a past member of the Association for the Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
Hal is a corporate trainer and human resource consultant with over twenty years experience in schools and businesses facilitating experiential training and teaching. He has experience working with adventure programs, outdoor and indoor challenge courses, and corporate team development activities. He works with teams who want to build or enhance a cohesive culture and develop their potential: to make quantum leaps (organizational learning) and do more with existing resources. Hal and his team travel throughout the US and internationally to bring the unique and customized team building process to a variety of corporations, businesses, non-profits and other types of organizations. A customized Funlosophy program can take place in the great out-of-doors, in a gym, or in the board room. Turn Team Building into Team Work.
On the Philanthropic side, Hal is a founding member of the Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth Program (AWRSAY), which provides recognition and scholarships to resilient youth. He is also the June 2002 recipient of the Minoru Yasui Denver Volunteer Award for his work with Denver area youth groups.
