About FunlosophyA little bit about our Fun-philosophy:Funlosophy, the philosophy of fun, heightens the awareness of fun, the fun quotient (FQ). As a friend often says, pain is inevitable - suffering is optional. Everyone deals with situations differently, and optimism can be learned. Funlosophy challenges teams to recreate themselves through creative problem solving exercises that bring out the dynamics of the group. Chains may only be as strong as their weakest links, but people are not forged and static, but relational and able to learn and grow. Experience-based action learning combines hands-on learning with traditional skills and standards of learning to stimulate individual as well as team growth through innovative thinking and problem solving. Most activities can be conducted in your building, in a nearby facility, or in any open space. It is through our increasing acceptance of our differences as well as our evolving awareness of our commonalties as individuals that we capitalize on our capabilities, our capacity to grow, and our potential strengths working as groups. At a time when work groups are being asked to do more with the same, and sometimes fewer, resources, team development is a necessary approach to being more effective. In the era of learning organizations, where individuals are being asked more and more to work in teams, Funlosophy brings the experience of teaching and training to facilitate change in your workplace. Alignment of the team brings the experience of individuals into a focused effort. "The conscious act of thinking of each other as colleagues contributes toward interacting as colleagues," and "(being) 'playful'...requires the willingness to play with new ideas, to examine them and test them" (Senge, The Fifth Discipline, 1990). Senge encourages the use of "practice fields," opportunities for teams to practice "collective learning." Funlosophy will provide an assessment of the workplace needs if necessary; fun, action based training to allow for "practice" in learning to work as a team; and follow-up to help apply those learnings. |
